Programmable radio infrastructure for 5G and 6G

Turn radio networks into software

At Open Radio Systems, we help telecom operators replace proprietary base station hardware with programmable, carrier-grade radio infrastructure.
Drawing on our unique expertise in the deep integration of hardware and software, we cover the entire value chain in the development of radio units and act as a technology partner for system integrators and operators.

Technologies

At ORS we are building a powerhouse of next generation radio infrastructure technology development in Europe.

As software-defined radio (SDR) and digital signal processing (DSP) enthusiasts, we are revolutionizing the infrastructure of mobile networks. We believe that 6G radio access networks (RANs) will run almost entirely in software - on the ground and direct-to-cell from orbit.
We are driving this transformation by developing software-defined radio units (RUs) with minimal fixed hardware that boost physical layer processing on standard CPUs. This provides just the right efficiency to turn 5G and 6G radio access networks (RANs) into an App. Optimized for open-source RANs and free of CPU vendor lock-in, our radio units and accelerators return technological sovereignty to the community.

For us, sub-nanosecond synchronization is a light breakfast and O-RAN Split 8 is just the beginning on our path towards full RAN virtualization!

Company

At Open Radio Systems, we transform mobile network infrastructure into software. Our carrier-grade radio processing technology reduces base station hardware to the bare minimum, turning the physical layer of 5G/6G into an app. Our groundbreaking hardware accelerator platform, ORS Aurora, supports a wide-range of commercial and open-source vRAN stacks and CPUs. It offers real-time RAN programmability and an API for RAN developers. This enables AI RANs down to the physical layer and returns technological sovereignty to mobile network operators.

Software-first RAN

Mobile communications infrastructure is being transformed from hardware-dependent silos into software-defined platforms.

Carrier-grade Performance

Our architecture combines real-time performance with scalable, robust operability for real-world networks.

Technological Sovereignty

Network operators gain greater control over their infrastructure and can flexibly combine open-source and proprietary stacks.
